Making music has been a hobby and a passion for me since about 1996 - so as of summer of 2017 it's celebrating its turning drinking age! I've also engaged in other artistic forms like drawing/painting and poetry, but they have not been as prevalent.

Alas, looks like this week is a no-go for a new piece. It's been hectic preparing for Christmas time and things sort of piled up together with that. I'll post an oldie soon!

As you may have noticed, I am a bit delayed in posting a new piece this weekend - it was a bit of a whirlwind and I was desperately trying to finish a piece - which ultimately ended in failure. As promised before, however, I will pick out an oldie and publish it very soon (tonight). Thank you for your patience!

I just launched a Patreon page this week!

https://www.patreon.com/siteml

It's still pretty barebones, but it's there. As a motivator, I've made it a monthly donation deal: this way, I can push myself to create more so that it's worth the money! Two tiers exist - $1 for basic supporter (mp3 download of completes) and $3 for fan (mp3 download of both completes and unfinished ones!). Of course, anyone is welcome to give more, but the minimums are required if you want the perks. Because of this, I will be delaying posting new pieces by at least about a week anywhere else (I'm yet to decide the final delay time; I don't want to make this too long either!). The biggest difference is with the more expensive tier, as I don't really post my incomplete work anywhere else. So technically, this won't affect the flow of new pieces too much here - just offset them in time. For anyone who chooses to buy a subscription: a HUGE thank you! Any amount helps in bringing me closer to the dream of making music for a living!

I've been thinking about posting some of my older pieces on here, from my days of ModPlug Tracker. Clearly worse samples (for later stuff, Kiarchive ftw!) and a lot of the compositions aren't nearly as good as what I do nowadays (relatively speaking, I consider myself still having plenty to improve to achieve "pro level"), but there are gems that may be worth bringing out. I could probably use oldies to fill in whenever I can't come up with anything new.

Yea, Nay, or any thoughts?

Wow, I'm actually doing it!

I wanted to start posting stuff regularly for a while now, but life has funny ways of interfering. So far I'm keeping up, however! My newest bit came from me looking through older pieces - an obscure bit from 2012 that I just sort of abandoned halfway through. And it was a shame, really, so I updated the instruments and added the pizzicato movement ...  and voila! Or should I say ... "viola"? :D

I'll update here once I get the project posted.

Finally.

It looks like I'm making great strides in putting out another stellar piece. Calling it Age of Automata; it's got a darker feeling to it and mixes synth and analog elements into a post-apocalyptic sounding theme. I may yet finish this tonight, or I may not, but the running time is already circa 3:30, so longer than most of my recent pieces.

Keep your eyes peeled, and in the next 24 hours I should have a tasty morsel for you! :D

P.S. if you want to hear a work in progress version before I'm done, shoot me a message and I'll drop you a link (or add you to project as beta tester, for easier preview).

UPDATE: The piece is posted! Have a gander: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/773254

Since most of my music tends to be dramatic, I thought it best to put my acrylic paint piece from way back when in high school as both my user pic and icon. Might as well define myself in both mediums! I've been very prolific as of late - I can't put my finger down on as to why, but watch this space; it seems like some good stuff is still yet to come out in the near weeks. I call it the good streak :D
