Pretty. That sense of longing, though! Hoping what I make in the future can be at least half as expressive!

You will get there; of this I am certain. If you hold the emotional literacy within you, then ultimately the rest involves figuring out what frequencies do what things to our body and psyche. I am certain that you will do it.
You're selling yourself a bit short there, buddy. This is quality stuff - never say never, although it's true that it's better to be positively surprised than *expecting* a positive outcome when the odds are against all the participants (due to a number of quality submissions). I would not be surprised if you ended up winning the compo with this entry, though. I will say, too, this sounds like C418 - you're in good company with that! ;) Cheers :)
Thanks for the words man I really appreciate it. I guess you're right, I'll not compare myself with others, I liked what I did and that's all, and I'm glad you liked the song as well :D
*shakes fist at exams*
It's short and sweet, though :) Can see this as an intro to a TV series. As always, well executed :)
Hey siteml,
Thank you very much for the comment! Yes, I know it's short -- I tried to make a shorter track this time after a long period of time haha.
I'm glad you like this!
This definitely carries the feel of a sci-fi series. I can't wait for more!
Hey siteml,
Thanks a lot for the comment, I'm very glad you enjoyed it!
I very much enjoyed the song and its soundscape :) Lost track of how many times I pressed play xD
Gosh -- thank you! I wasn't entirely expecting it for a short track such as this but I am glad it went down well.
Finally got to listen to the completed version :D Well done!
Hey siteml,
Thank you very much for the comment! I’m glad.
Jesus, this is sick. I have no words other than... I want to get that good at some point! The dynamics, the flow, the subtleties, all perfectly etching into a story. I rarely give 5 stars, and I usually have comments for improvement. You've given me an impossible task here, though xD Hats off!
Hey siteml,
Thanks a lot for the comment, I'm very glad you think so! Glad that you loved it.
Damn... I work with the same tools (EWQL/ComposerCloud and FL Studio) and I have been heavily delving into orchestral side of things .... but even though this is more of the marching band side of things, you still remind me I have a lot to work on to get better xD Hats off.
Hi siteml,
Thanks a lot for the comment! I'm very glad :)
Wow, nice and clean. I like how you used low and high quality parts. The part where the rain comes in kinda had me a bit confused and straining to find the guitar in the rain (and the other effect) - I figure that was a purposeful choice so I didn't take off a half star for it (I otherwise would have, bite me ;P). Great job!
Thank you! :)
Especially circa 1:39, I get forcibly reminded of the likes of Enya or Enigma. Sublime harmonics. Well done! I do think your confidence level affected you especially early on in the piece - and I know where that comes from! Do your best to conquer that :) (and I say that as I am getting my feet wet in singing for my songs myself xD) You definitely opened up so to speak later on, and ... goodness... did that blossom :)
On a side note, I wish I understood the words! (not why the half star less, that was for the early part :P I try to keep my 5 star ratings scarce to make them extra special! ;P)
Cheers and keep going. Excellent stuff!
Thanks for the review, meep~
I did link the WP article to Hail Mary / Ave Maria and the text of the prayer translates to the Hymmnos lyrics above. I'd hoped you'd be able to find the translation there.
Otherwise I concur, it was fear of angering the upstairs neighbours who were previously in there and it was just frightening for me back then, because I'd been known to be interrupted mid-discussion, mid-anything if I was too loud for her. These walls are paper thin, so I don't doubt anyone can hear me sing. After a while when I'd got going I threw all caution to the wind.
Making music has been a hobby and a passion for me since about 1996 - so as of summer of 2017 it's celebrating its turning drinking age! I've also engaged in other artistic forms like drawing/painting and poetry, but they have not been as prevalent.
